Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 2026

Overview

Dr. Brainrot is an Android application developed by Yanis Anteur / MiraLab (anteuryanis@gmail.com). This Privacy Policy explains what information the app accesses, how it is used, and how we protect your privacy.

Short version: We collect no personal data. Everything the app tracks stays on your device. No servers. No accounts. No surveillance.

Accessibility Service

Dr. Brainrot uses Android's Accessibility Service to detect scroll events in social media applications (Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Twitter/X, Reddit, Facebook, Snapchat, LinkedIn, and similar apps).

The Accessibility Service only detects scroll gesture events (up/down swipes). It counts them.

The Accessibility Service does NOT read any text, messages, images, captions, usernames, comments, or any other on-screen content.

No content from apps you use is ever recorded, transmitted, or stored outside your device.

The Accessibility Service does NOT take screenshots or record your screen.

Data Stored Locally

Dr. Brainrot stores the following data locally on your device using Android's SharedPreferences:

  • Daily scroll count (resets at midnight)
  • Current brain decay stage (1–5)
  • Historical decay stage log (past 30 days)
  • Chosen difficulty level (Easy / Normal / Doomscroller)
  • Recovery actions completed (push-ups, Wikipedia reads)
  • Daily streak counter
  • App settings and preferences

This data never leaves your device. It is not uploaded to any server, shared with any third party, or accessible to the developer.

Data We Do NOT Collect

We do not collect, store, or process:

  • Your name, email address, or any personal identifiers
  • Your phone number or device identifiers (IMEI, Android ID)
  • Your location
  • The content of your social media feeds
  • Which specific posts, videos, or accounts you view
  • Your contacts, photos, or files
  • Any biometric data
  • Usage analytics or crash reports (beyond what Google Play collects by default)

Advertising (AdMob)

Dr. Brainrot displays ads served by Google AdMob. These ads may be personalized based on your Google account settings and device. Google AdMob operates under its own privacy policy and data practices.

For information on how Google collects and uses data for advertising, please review Google's Privacy Policy at policies.google.com/privacy.

You can opt out of personalized ads through your device's Google Settings or by visiting adssettings.google.com.
